Virginia Non-Emergency Medicaid Transportation System

Welcome to the Virginia Department of Medical Assistance Services (DMAS) website for Fee-for-Service (FFS) Non-Emergency Medicaid Transportation (NEMT). DMAS is the agency that administers Medicaid and the State Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP) in Virginia. Non-emergency Medicaid Transportation is a benefit included in most but not all Medicaid programs. This website is designed to help eligible Medicaid members, Medicaid transportation providers and other Medicaid service providers to understand Medicaid transportation benefits. This website will enable you to make reservations by phone, fax or through the Internet and will answer frequently asked questions.

Since 2001, LogistiCare Solutions has managed the FFS Virginia Medicaid Transportation Brokerage program for DMAS. DMAS requires LogistiCare provide safe, timely, and cost effective transportation for all eligible FFS members needing non-emergency transportation service.

LogistiCare has six regional offices throughout the state and is proud to serve the citizens of Virginia. LogistiCare coordinated 3.9 million trips for Virginia Medicaid members in FY 2011. The reported complaints during the year were less than one-half (1/2) of one percent (1%).

Effective NEMT requires the participation and help of the member, the Medicaid service providers, other state agencies and LogistiCare’s network of Virginia transportation providers.
